Sustainability at Living Kitzbuehel

Sustainability isn't a finishing touch we add at the end — it starts long before we begin processing our raw materials. From how our wool is sourced to how our facilities are powered, every step is chosen with a lighter footprint in mind.

Responsible Wool Sourcing

High-quality wool can only come from healthy animals kept in species-appropriate conditions. That belief shapes where and how we source our raw materials — because good wool and good animal welfare aren't separate goals, they're the same one. Healthier animals produce better wool, and better wool is what makes a Living Kitzbuehel slipper last.

Natural, Renewable Materials

We build our slippers from materials that come from nature and can be replenished by it. Pure virgin wool and natural rubber are our raw materials of choice — not synthetic, petroleum-based substitutes. Choosing renewable materials means our products are tied to a resource cycle that regenerates, rather than one that depletes.

Fair Labor & Safe Working Conditions

Our production facilities are located in countries where fair pay and good working conditions are safeguarded by law. That's a deliberate choice — sustainability has to include the people making the product, not just the materials themselves.

Green Power in Production

Almost all of our facilities run on green power, much of it generated on-site through their own hydro and solar plants. Producing closer to the energy source — rather than relying on long-distance, fossil-fuel-heavy grids — is one more way we keep our production footprint smaller.
